Deer in the city

As specialists in urban forestry, UFORA participates with many organisations that provide information about all aspects of our field.

UFORA has produced many publications of our own offering help in restoring natural habitats in your own backyard.

Please visit the UFORA Publications tab to browse through our resources geared specifically to the Toronto region.

There are many organisations that can help you save time and money while planning a tree planting project or naturalising your own yard.

Community Tree Planting Resources

Volunteers planting trees in a degraded forest

Many organisations and programs are designed to give people tips to help them restore their region’s natural ecology.

In some instances, these initiatives offer direct financial incentives for urban planting and similar activities – often in the form of funding grants.

UFORA has worked as a facilitation partner with many of these groups in the past. If you’re a new group looking to restore natural areas in your region, get in touch with us and we’ll add you to the list. Or better yet, perhaps work with you in the future!
