UFORA, working with partners has planted about 20 acres at Earl Bales Park over the years. It’s been a major project of ours.  We also supervised the construction and planting of the storm-water pond and the project to twin the storm-water pipes that lead to the pond.

Below is a partial timeline of our work at Earl Bales, starting with the first plantings in 1994 with a local school.  We’ve also planted in three other sections of the park, assessed trees for the ski hill maintenance work, and wrote plans for City of Toronto staff to use on their own planting projects in the park.

Photo of Earl Bales pond taken in 2018. All greened up. We worked on Phase 2 - a new pipe through the park near Bathurst Street to reduce water flows down the small ravines and reduce erosion on the slopes.
